YOU CAN BE DIFFERENT

YOU CAN BE DIFFERENT

This is to someone who may be losing hope; one who thinks that there is nothing else they can do to change their current situation. Life’s overwhelming odds do scare people; sometimes making them cower and do nothing at all;  to respond to some situations.

With many heart-breaking and spirit-maiming happenings, it is much easy to forget that God is still with us. Many a times we encounter storms. When beaten and swirled in the boat, we think we are finished! We labor on our own to rescue ourselves. Screaming, we empty the boat of the water that is getting in and in vain jump up and down trying to get help.

Sometimes, we find ourselves in such situations of which we blame other people- thinking they are the cause. We throw them out of the boat yet nothing changes. A spouse thought that it is their partner who was the problem, divorced but still there was no peace in their lives. A young man dropped out of school thinking it was a headache only to find it worse outside. A young sister left every other thing and opted for marriage. Little did she know that marriage is not a solution to any problem; and in case it happens to be, then, it might be to singlehood.

We tend to forget that on our own we can do nothing. We need God! The disciples in the Sea of Galilee- faced by the storm, struggling to deal with it on their own, but failed- turned to Jesus who then calmed the storm [Luke 8:23]. Where do you turn to in times of storms?

You can be different in the way you handle your situations. You don’t have to be like everybody else losing hope. When the snake bites, lift up your eyes and look at Christ lifted on the cross for your healing. It does not matter how poisonous it is. Jesus is our healer. No matter how high the tides are or how rough the sea is, be different. Turn to Jesus. At His command storms calm.
