Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s (own) handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, (born anew) that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us (taking paths which He prepared ahead of time), that we should walk in them (living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live). (Amp)

The verse above highlights that, there’s a predestined purpose/work and a path that God created for us to do and walk to be His own workmanship. More so, it accords the first statement of the book “Purpose Driven Life”“It’s not about you”.

The question of one’s life purpose has abundantly received scores of answers from different walks of people. Universally, we all have the desire to know and realize our purpose of living, driven by the spiritual emptiness in us. We all bet our lives on something. Question is, why are we betting on what we are betting on?

Rick Warren in his book, “Purpose Driven Life” puts it clear that we might be successful in our courses of life but being successful and fulfilling one’s purpose of life are two succinctly different contexts. Unfortunately, none is born with a tag on his/her toe labelled one’s life purpose. We have to find our purpose and the way to find it is through God.

He continues to say, “No one is an Accident”. Meaning, we are all born in and under God’s purpose. It doesn’t matter whether one is: rich or poor; living on the streets or in the posh estates; whole or disabled. None is born accidentally. This was an eye opener to me. I thought that some were accidentally born due to lack of or poor family planning.

Note! The story of the blind man in the Bible; John: 9. The disciples asked Jesus who had sinned causing the man’s blindness. What was Jesus’ answer?

“…but he was born blind in order that the working of God should be manifested in him.” He was born blind on God’s purpose. Our; Parents; DNA’s; personalities; strengths and weaknesses are all integrated to suit God’s purpose for us.

“Nothing matters more than knowing God’s purposes for your life and nothing can compensate for not knowing them; not success; wealth, fame or pleasure”  Rick Warren

Here is a poem-excerpt from the book, I decided to share.

You are who you are for a reason.

You are part of an intricate plan.

You’re a precious and perfect unique design,

Called God’s special woman or man.

You look like you look for a reason.

Our God made no mistake.

He knit you together within the womb,

You’re just what He wanted to make.

The parents you had were the ones he chose,

And no matter how may you feel,

They were custom-designed with God’s plan in mind,

And they bear the Master’s seal.

No. that trauma you faced was not easy,

And God wept that it hurt you so;

But it was allowed to shape your heart

So that into his likeness you’d grow.

You are who you are for a reason,

You’ve been formed by the Master’s rod.

You are who you are, beloved,

Because there is a God.
