The  Main Campus Christian Union’s 60th anniversary celebrations happened on 11th March 2018. It was a special day filled with itself. It brought together the; alumni; partners and students, providing an opportunity of ministration, sharing account of events and God’s faithfulness since its inception.

Was it not for God, where would the Union be? The Union’s existence and thriving stems on God. Because He lives, the Union will confidently walk into tomorrow.

Established in 1957, the Main Campus Christian Union (MCCU) has been committed to spiritual nourishment of students within the University of Nairobi Main Campus as well as reaching out to the entire nation through missions. Founded under four pillars; missions; evangelism; discipleship and leadership development, scores of generations have not only been positively impacted but also influenced to become holistic and responsible citizens of Kenya and the rest of the world.

Our core values remain to be; Godliness; Integrity; Unity and Excellence.

Our vision; to be a congregation of Christ like believers, ministering as a family in love to God and to fellow men.

Our mission; to equip every member of the Union to Christ-likeness for effective Christian life and to reach every student in the Main Campus of the University of Nairobi for Christ.

MCCU; where character is shaped, discipline inculcated, friendship built and leadership developed; the place where memories unending are made, talents exploited and foundations developed for future generations. We all have a story to tell about experiences in and with MCCU.

The joyous anniversary celebrations took place in the Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH) and at the Great Court. Gracefully attended by overwhelming 610 people; 500 students, 88 alumni and 5 partners. Exclusive of children who accompanied their parents.

The guest speaker was Bro. John Ng’ang’a. He brought alive the history of the Union and explained ‘why MCCU’. The theme of the day was “Come; Celebrate what the Lord has done”, cut from Psalms 105: 1-2.

Keynote guests gave their remarks; the Managing Director, Ufungamano House-Madam Pauline Mungai; the Director, FOCUS Kenya-Mr. George Ogalo and the chair, National Governing Council (NGC) of FOCUS Kenya- Mr. Kenneth Munyi.

The colorful event was accompanied by a finger-licking luncheon and cake cutting alongside mentorship clinics where many of the students were mentored on diverse issues of life.

What a day it was! A day invariably worth commemorating.

CELEBRATING 60 YEARS OF EXISTENCE; CELEBRATING THE WONDROUS DEEDS OF GOD.
