Scripture Reference: Micah 7:7-8

Scripture Exerpt:

As for me, I look to the Lord for his help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me. Do not gloat over me, my enemies! For though I fall, I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord himself will be my light.

Devotional Text

Sometimes it seems as though you wait forever for a breakthrough. Satan laughs and mocks your faith, insisting that you are waiting in vain. Micah’s response to Satan’s jabs was a strong confession of faith. Confident that the Lord would save him, Micah declared that although he might be down, he was not out! When going through periods of waiting for God, hours turn into days, weeks, and months. Satan’s taunts and jeers ring in your ears. Through it all, however, remember that one day the tables will turn. You may have fallen, but you must boldly declare, “I will arise.” You may be sitting in darkness now, but one day the Lord will light all the darkness around you! The elders around the throne of God reminded John, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white” (Revelation 7:14). Are you going through a period of tribulation and waiting for God to act? Stand forever, if necessary, for Satan knows that one day “God will wipe away all [your] tears” (v. 17).
